What is the difference between a timeout and self-exclusion?
A timeout is a short, temporary break from real-money play — ranging from 24 hours up to 6 weeks. During a timeout, you can still log in to check your balance or withdraw funds, but you cannot deposit or place real-money bets. Self-exclusion is a longer-term, more serious measure — a minimum of 6 months, up to permanent — during which you cannot log in to your account at all, and we stop all marketing communications to you.
Which one should I choose — a timeout or self-exclusion?
If you just need a short breather — for example, after a losing session or to reset your habits for a few days or weeks — a timeout is the right tool. If you feel your gambling is becoming difficult to control, or you want a more serious, harder-to-reverse commitment to stop, self-exclusion is the better choice. Both are completely free and you can activate either one immediately from your account. If you are unsure which is right for you, our responsible gaming team is happy to talk it through, with no judgement.
Are timeout and self-exclusion free to use?
Yes, completely free. There is no cost or fee to activate a timeout or self-exclusion, and using these tools never negatively affects your account standing, loyalty points, or VIP status when you choose to return (where applicable).
Can I use both a timeout and self-exclusion together?
You would typically use one or the other depending on the length of break you need. If you activate self-exclusion, it supersedes and extends beyond any active timeout. If you are currently in a timeout and decide you need a longer break, you can upgrade to self-exclusion at any point by contacting our responsible gaming team.
