What is a timeout?
A timeout is a temporary break from real-money gaming at Betunited, ranging from 24 hours up to 6 weeks. During a timeout, you will not be able to log in to your account or perform any account-related activities — including deposits, withdrawals, or gameplay. Your account is fully suspended for the chosen period and resumes automatically once the timeout ends.
How do I activate a timeout?
Log in to your Betunited account, go to Account > Responsible Gaming > Timeout, select your preferred duration, and confirm. The timeout begins immediately upon confirmation. You will be logged out of your account and will not be able to log back in until the timeout period has ended. You will receive a confirmation email with your timeout end date.
What timeout durations are available?
Betunited offers timeout periods ranging from 24 hours up to 6 weeks. Available durations are displayed in Account > Responsible Gaming > Timeout. Choose the period that feels right for the break you need.
Can I cancel a timeout once it has started?
No. Once a timeout is activated it cannot be cancelled, shortened, or reversed — even if you change your mind. This is intentional, ensuring the tool provides a genuine and reliable break. Think carefully about the duration before confirming.
What happens to my account and balance during a timeout?
Your account is fully suspended for the duration of the timeout. You cannot log in, make deposits, withdraw funds, or place bets during this period. Your account balance, game history, loyalty points, and all account data remain intact and will be exactly as you left them when your timeout ends.
Can I still contact Betunited support during a timeout?
Yes. While you cannot access your account, you can still contact our customer support team via the live chat on betuntd.ca or by email if you have a query. Our team can assist with general questions but cannot override or end an active timeout.
What happens when my timeout ends?
Your account automatically reactivates and returns to full access the moment your timeout period expires — no action is needed from you. Simply log in as normal when you are ready. If you feel you need more time, you can activate a new timeout or request a self-exclusion before or after the current period ends.
Can I extend my timeout?
Contact our responsible gaming team via live chat or email before or after your current timeout ends and we can apply a new timeout period or help you move into a self-exclusion if a longer break is needed.
