Why do I need a smartphone to complete KYC?
Veriff's verification process requires a smartphone because it uses your phone's camera to capture a high-quality image of your identity document and a live selfie. What are the two ways to start the Veriff verification on my phone?
When you initiate KYC from your Betunited account on desktop, a Veriff pop-up will appear with two options:
Option 1 — Scan the QR Code: use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code displayed on screen. This opens the Veriff verification flow directly on your phone without any SMS being sent.
Option 2 — Send Link via SMS: enter your mobile number and select your country code. Veriff will text a secure link to your phone. Tap the link to open the verification flow on your mobile browser. Both options lead to the same verification process — choose whichever is more convenient for you.
How do I complete KYC using the QR code option?
To complete your KYC verification using the QR code:
- Log in to your BetUnited account on your desktop.
- Open the Menu and click the Upload button.
- The Veriff verification page will open and display a QR code.
- Open the camera app on your smartphone and scan the QR code
- Tap the link that appears to launch the Veriff verification on your phone.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to:
Prepare your valid government-issued ID.
Allow camera access.
Capture images of your ID document.
Take a selfie for identity verification. - Submit your verification when prompted.
Once your verification has been successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation on both your mobile device and your desktop.
