The Veriff QR code is not scanning on my phone — what should I do?
Ensure your phone's camera app is up to date. Clean your phone's camera lens. Hold your phone 20 to 30 centimetres from the screen — too close or too far makes scanning difficult. Make sure the room is well-lit and the QR code is fully visible on your desktop screen without any glare. Try increasing your desktop screen brightness. If scanning still fails, use Option 2 and send the link via SMS instead.
I did not receive the Veriff SMS link — what should I check?
First, ensure you selected the correct country code (Canada is +1) and entered your full mobile number correctly. Check that your phone has network coverage and is not in Do Not Disturb or Airplane mode. Wait up to 60 seconds as SMS delivery can occasionally be delayed. If the SMS still has not arrived, go back to Account > Verification on your desktop and use the QR code option instead, or request a new SMS link by restarting the verification.
The Veriff page opened on my phone but the camera won't work.
Tap 'Allow' when your browser or the Veriff page prompts for camera access. If you previously denied camera permission, go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Browser (Chrome or Safari) > Permissions > Camera and enable it. On iOS, go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and ensure your browser is toggled on. Restart the browser after granting permission and reopen the Veriff link.
The Veriff session expired before I could complete verification.
Veriff sessions have a time limit. If your session expired, return to Account > Verification on betuntd.ca and click 'Start Verification' to begin a fresh session with a new QR code and SMS link. Your previous incomplete session will not affect your ability to start a new one.
I completed Veriff on my phone but my Betunited account still shows 'Unverified'.
There is typically a short delay of a few minutes between Veriff processing your submission and the result being reflected in your Betunited account. Refresh your Account > Verification page after 5 to 10 minutes. If the status has not updated after 30 minutes, contact our support team via live chat with your registered email address and we will check the status of your Veriff submission manually.
Can I complete Veriff on a tablet instead of a smartphone?
Yes, a tablet with a working rear camera can be used in place of a smartphone. The process is the same — use the QR code or SMS link to open Veriff on your tablet, allow camera access, and follow the on-screen steps. Ensure your tablet's camera is capable of capturing a clear, sharp image of your document.
